There has been so much in the news lately in addition to Covid-19 to make us sad, angry, scared, etc. I remember as a child my mother telling me when I was upset with the actions of someone else that there are always two sides to a story. When we read or hear something in the news, we expect it to be correct right? We don't expect people to lie or steal from us. We all want to believe in the good in people no matter their race, we don't want...

Do you think of yourself as a fiber artist? If you create with your hands, use fibers, fabrics, and yarns, yes I'd call you a fiber artist. Isn't it a great time to be a Fiber Artist? We get to work with our hands, we get to create what we want with materials we want. It feeds our souls, gives us pleasure and makes us happy. Call it whatever you want, I call it peace.

I grew up reading and telling stories.  Then I became a teacher, and continued storytelling to children.  When recovering from breast cancer and chemotherapy, I became a storyteller in women’s recovery shelters in British Columbia. 

The women loved hearing about the angel who visited me when I was struggling.  She was wearing an emerald green dress and was standing by my bedside.  My first thought was that she was a drug-induced hallucination.  And then I wondered… was she a real angel come to comfort me?  Hallucination or visitation; I felt comforted...

I think we have a greater appreciation for 'the little things' in life. This can mean different things for different people. When you have your ability to go where you want, when you want taken away since Covid-19, you are to stay home as much as possible, social distance, no hugging of family and friends that don't live with you, things we took for granted have more meaning now. I appreciate seeing the pretty sky at sunset and thankful that I am able to stand outside to witness such beauty. I've...

I copied the above from a post on Facebook, I thought it was appropriate to recognize all 'mums'. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by so many 'strong' moms in my life. We are the glue that holds everything together. When the glue gets misplaced, cracked with wear or temporarily lost , we know where to find more, we lean on each other for more glue.
