Mother's Day, May 11, 2020

I copied the above from a post on Facebook, I thought it was appropriate to recognize all 'mums'. I am so fortunate to be surrounded by so many 'strong' moms in my life. We are the glue that holds everything together. When the glue gets misplaced, cracked with wear or temporarily lost , we know where to find more, we lean on each other for more glue. This is the Rug Hooking community in my opinion. We help each other out, lean on each other when needed and there is always someone there to listen. We hook to give us strength as well. It is a therapy on it's own that helps keep us 'glued'.

I set aside my Christmas Cardinal Tree skirt for a bit and decided to work on my geometric. I worked and worked on the squares and thought I was doing so well until I laid it out and saw I have many squares left to do. This pattern I'm calling 'moms quilt' as my mother made me a quilt for my bed of this pattern and I want this as a floor mat beside my bed. I hand dyed the wool a salmon color as that is the color in the quilt plus I love this color. I'm undecided if I'll expand the width or not. We shall see as time goes.

I have been dyeing up swatches this week. So pretty when they are laid out on my drying rack.

I dyed a new color called Tiger's Eye. It is now available on my web page shopping under yarns.

This week in the mail box, Kate sent me a photo of her proddy rug she designed and hooked. It is beautiful!

Shelley designed and hooked a new rug, it is beautiful!

Continue to stay safe and healthy, I hope you have an awesome week!
