Snow and Cold

T'is the season, old man winter has arrived just in time for December!  Man it got cold quickly and everything is beautifully white.  I always say it is so lovely to see all the ground covered in snow, makes it all look so clean.  Hallmark movies can be played again.

Yes I have my Christmas tree up as shown above.  It is artificial so it can go up early.   The tree skirt was an Encompassing Designs rug that I hooked years ago.

I finished one sock, of the cable car sock...

Light

The light is so important in our rug hooking.  Not only to see accurately the colours but as we get older, we don't see as well as we use to. The above photo I took the other day on my daily walk.  The sun is behind me and makes a very stretched long narrow me!  I find I have to look down to ensure I don't trip while walking and following the narrow me is difficult on the eyes.

I have finished up a small project, pattern by Jane Steele.  She had drawn my face in...

Remembering Those Who Fight Today and Those Who Fought Before Today and Those We Lost

I think like never before, we are seeing and hearing about wars going on in the world today.  I hope we each can give thanks and grace to those who have served, who are serving and their families for those that don't return.  There isn't a family not affected by war I don't think.

I am reading a story called The Women.  It is about women helping during the Vietnam war in the 1960's in the capacity of nurses as women weren't allowed to serve.  If you watched 'Mash' as a kid on TV, it helps when...
