I think like never before, we are seeing and hearing about wars going on in the world today. I hope we each can give thanks and grace to those who have served, who are serving and their families for those that don't return. There isn't a family not affected by war I don't think.
I am reading a story called The Women. It is about women helping during the Vietnam war in the 1960's in the capacity of nurses as women weren't allowed to serve. If you watched 'Mash' as a kid on TV, it helps when reading this book to really picture what was going on there in the make shift medic tents. War is never pretty and is a gosh darn mess and sad. If you believe in prayers, please pray for all those caught serving our country.
I have always wanted a slim pre-lite pencil tree to hang hand made rug hooking decorations on. I have always had a few that I put on my Christmas tree each year. I found a pre-lite pink tree that I think will be perfect to hang my hand made hooked decorations on. This week, I pulled out the ones I had and made additional decorations as you can see below and tried to theme them with a bit of 'pink' in each.

I am starting a new pattern this week, by Jane Steele. She had drawn it out for me a long time ago and each time I see her, she asks if I have hooked it yet so I must 'getter done'! I'll share once I start it.
I haven't knit any on my Polkadot cowl but I know soon I'll get back to it.
Yesterday, a few friends and myself went to our first Christmas Craft show in Truro. We stopped at the Creamery on the way home to adore all of the Christmas Ornaments. I found this guy and had to take a photo with him.

In the mail this week; Susan Sheppard finished up her Jane Steele pattern. The colours she used are the colours of the little boats in Newfoundland. Thanks for sharing Susan.

Another monochromatic with a pop of colour, by Jean Fawthrop. Lovely Jean.

Joyce Baxter finished up another lovely Pop of Colour. Thanks for sharing Joyce.

Diane Benoit finished up this pretty rug. Thanks for sharing Diane.

Paula Condra attended the Periwinkle Laine Rug Hooking Retreat in Tracadie, PEI. Her sister-in law and mother also attended, all the way from the USA. Below is the rug Paula had worked on and is now finished. She combined felting and hooking together. Looks fantastic Paula and thanks for sharing.

Have a wonderful week everyone!
