I think the weekend before Valentines AND having football is a conundrum. Just my opinion, maybe couples plan to do something special on the actual 14th but if children are involved, getting a sitter on the weekend for me was always easier. I hope you can show love all around you and not just on Valentines but it is a good excuse or reminder to be extra kind to those you love. As to football? Well, if you enjoy that, you are in luck tonight!
Catherine Robichaud shared some of her lovely rugs that she has displayed at The Ice House Gallery in Tatamagouche, NS. A couple with hearts just in time for Valentines. The below rug is called Big Heart.
This one is called Heart Flowers.
This one is called Hidden Hearts.
This one is called Cascading.
In the mail this week; Krystal Hamm shared the below rug she hooked. It is lovely and the background wool was supplied by Della's Rug Hooking Studio.
Kate Thornhill of Sparrowhawk Rughooking Studio in Pouch Cove, Newfoundland, shared the following;
He was a poet, a mystic, a philosopher, and a singer who denounced ritualism as well as discrimination against women and those of lower socioeconomic status. Guru Nanak's followers became known as Sikhs, which means, seekers of truth. Hooked by one of my students, Padma Rajiv for her sister who follows the Guru. Padma started rug hooking about 15 months ago. She is really brave to take on faces. Not many beginners would try something like this. Finished size is about 12' x 16', hooked on linen with yarn and wool fabric. Cloak is hooked with #5 cut wool dyed by Della, and outlined with velvet.
Have an awesome week everyone!
