We have all seen a lot of changes in the last year. Change is the new norm it seems. My body has been waiting for this spring time change for a few weeks, I will be very happy to hopefully be still asleep past 5 a.m. tomorrow.
My daughter Jenna and her family were here since last Friday for the weekend. It is a blur when you have an almost 2 year old running around. Sophie is such a joy, knows her own mind and loves to rug hook, loves to bake and cook, loves to play on the computer, loves to go for walks, all with Grammy! Sophie doesn't love to sleep so much. Her mother has said she has not slept past 7 a.m. maybe a handful of times in her short 2 years of life. Today, Sophie was still asleep at 9 a.m. the old time! She had gone to bed the night before, same time as usual. Who is this girl? Is she ok? Such a good girl.
It had been a rough week last week, furnace problems, my sink in my laundry area that I use for dyeing wool broke in half, our kitten Chubs got hit by a car, he had surgery last Wednesday. He's doing much better now and lucky to be alive. Collar and stitches don't come off until March 22, 2021.
I began at the beginning of March, a Rug Hooking Master Art Class with Rachelle LeBlanc, www.rachelleblanc.com. Unfortunately I haven't been able to start my project yet but I can tell you about it. I chose Rachelle's pattern called Ema and I have decided I would like her face to look like my granddaughter Sophie's face. We shall see if I can pull it off.
I have finished up my classes with Susan Clarke, making a carpet bag but mine isn't complete as of yet and I need to purchase leather handles. I'll post once I have it all together.
I finished up my e-commerce course I had taken the month of February with SecondSpring, www.secondspring.co. I learned lots and one of the results is my new website that is almost complete. I am so excited to finally have a well working web site taking into consideration all I learned during my e-commerce course. Stay tuned!
I am vending Thursday, March 18th, 2021 at the Truro, Fire Hall on Victoria Street. Stop in to see me! 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If there is anything specific you would like me to bring or pre-order, please give me a shout so I can have it ready for pick-up, you can email me at dellaackles@outlook.com.
I have shown the Jane McGown pattern called, Chinese Roundel a few times since I had hooked it. Lori Nieckarz just finished hers, we have another to add to the write up I intend to do some day of all the variations of this pattern hooked. Lori yours is beautiful!
In the mail this week, Heather sent me her completed 'witch' rug, she did an awesome job.
Barbara finished her rug that she intends to make into a pillow. The background is my wool fabric called Three Wishes. What a great rug Barb!
Have an awesome week everyone!
