The above sunset I stole from one of the gals, forget which one, my apologies. Beautiful sunsets every evening from this wonderful deck at our rug hooking retreat we were on last week in PEI. We couldn't have asked for better weather. More pictures below on the deck.
We played RLC, below is a picture of the gang, minus Helen and I.
I was very productive this week, I got a lot done! My mat challenge for Springhill I completed. Thanks so much to Diane, Caroline and Ruth for trying to help me with my darn eyes. They are what they are, I'm finished with it...lol
Here is the painting that my youngest sister Debra painted when she was 16 and which I based my rug on.
I did up this little project, pattern by Jane Steele. The center was felted and sewn and that was all of the pattern. My friend Diane suggested sunflower petals so that is what I decided to do. I had taken to the retreat a few bags of worms and just used what I had on hand.
I then worked on a mitten project, a free pattern given out at the Shubenacadie Hook-In this Spring. We are to bring our finished projects next year for a display. I like being ahead of the game...lol
I've had pillow slips in stock purchased a long time ago from the Dollar store, has it's own zipper, just needed a design on the front. So a fall picture was the ticket, again just using my scraps.
I have a two day work-shop this coming week with Jane Steele in Northport, Monochromatic with a Pop of Colour, outlining in black was the homework so I also got that finished. It will be a Christmas present so I won't be sharing photos of it until after Christmas.
Diane Benoit finished up this lovely rug at the retreat for the Springhill Challenge. She had painted her children when they were young, looks fabulous.
Debbie Lessard, did a demonstration of different materials to hook with and different ways to mount/finish a project. This lovely landscape she is holding was beautiful.
Helen Valentine finished this lovely rug a bit ago and shared with the group. It is beautiful.
In the mail this week; Carol finished up this lovely Crocodile Rock, Della's Rug Hooking studio pattern. Well done Carol, love it!
I am busy as a beaver getting ready for our annual Northport Hook-In, September 15, 2025. Hope to see you there, space is limited, get your spot reserved with Pauline Verstraten at pollyverstraten@yahoo.ca. Hope to see you there!
Have a great week everyone!
