It is Labour day weekend already. I hope you are having an awesome weekend! I have my daughter and granddaughter here so that is keeping me busy.
Weekly hooking with the Town and Country Thrummers, begins Tuesday, September 3rd at 10 a.m. and will run until 2 p.m., here at Della's Rug Hooking Studio, 639 Willow Street, Amherst, NS. Please come and join us, bring whatever hand work you want to work on or just to chat is fine. Bring something to eat and tea/coffee, water will be provided. Plan on this each Tuesday if possible, we would love to see you!

Hours of Operation (WHEN YOU NEED ME!)
I’ve been giving a lot of thought since I retired (July, 2019) as to what ‘Studio hours' I should observe.
Have you ever traveled some place unexpectedly or just didn’t get a chance to check the Studio hours you really wanted to visit before you left and get there and they are not open or you got there later than planned and it was ‘after hours’? So frustrating right? Has happened to me a time or two. What really frustrated me one time was finding out once on a trip that Studio hours were only on certain days of the week!
Most of you know my Studio is in the basement of my home. I’m not big enough as of ‘yet’ to have hired help so I’m on my own, even though my almost 10 year old grandson has asked if he can help out in my Studio which of course I’ll take him up on that as much as possible!
I digress, I have a life just like you, I have personal commitments and therefore from time to time, I need to be away from my Studio. I want to be available ‘WHEN’ you want me. Whether it is 9 p.m. on a Tuesday, or a holiday or a Sunday. I want to be available ‘WHEN YOU NEED ME’. Therefore I need to manage expectations.
I am not going to set ‘specific Studio hours. My Studio is open ‘WHEN YOU NEED ME’. Today nearly everyone has a cell phone and Internet at the very least. Call me, text me, email me, message me on Facebook, whatever method is most comfortable for you to let me know when you would like to visit my Studio. That doesn’t mean you need to tell me that you wish to visit on Wednesday at 10 a.m. but instead, ‘hey I’d like to visit sometime Wednesday morning’. This way I can ensure I am here for you. I’d hate to run up the road to check my mail and you tried to visit at the same time. That usually is my luck.
So bottom line, my Studio hours are ‘WHEN YOU NEED ME’, no matter the time of day or day of the week. I want to be here for YOU, WHEN YOU NEED ME! You are my valued customers and I couldn’t be here in business without you!
