Staying the Course, January 09, 2022

I know a lot of you, myself included, are waiting patiently for life as we knew it to go back to normal prior to COVID.  We have had to 'create' a new normal since COVID. Instead of resisting, rejecting, stomping and dragging our feet all the way, perhaps we need to direct our focus elsewhere, like our fibre art?  I thank to the heavens that I have had my business and rug hooking to keep me sane during these difficult times.  Busy hands make for a happy soul.  Or a cat sitting on your legs as in the above picture, my grandsons cat Chubs. We've participated in Zoom rug hooking classes virtually, we've communicated with loved ones, friends and family through Facetime, having a face to talk with allows us to better connect with each other.  I am thankful for these technologies to stay connected.  I always say a good walk allows me to do my best thinking, clears the mind.  Go for walks, breath in the fresh air and just let be what is.

I had posted a quick video last week on FaceBook welcoming everyone to the return of my virtual shopping Mondays after the holidays.  I appreciate each and every one of you who take the time to comment on my postings and all purchases, they are not taken for granted.

I haven't been rug hooking at all.  I have been busy in the dye pots though.  I will get back to hooking soon I'm sure.  My mom has been busy making more lavender sachets, gripper covers and snippet bags.  I have updated my web site with more products as well.

In the mail this week, Shelley Lipscombe shared with me her finished rug patterns she had purchased from me for her grandson.  They are simply fabulous and was a thrill to see these patterns hooked.

Anne-Marie Nicolle finished this rug that was requested for her daughters university apartment.  The wool fabric hand dyed by Della's Rug Hooking Studio.  Anne-Marie said she doesn't want to hook pink for awhile.  Great job Anne-Marie.

Have a wonderful week everyone!

  • LOVE the Bulldozer & Truck Rugs! So cute! You are right Sista! We need to concentrate on the things we have, not the things we don’t have! And, when we stop and think about it, we have so much! Focus on the positive, not the negative whenever we can! Great Blog!
