Della's Rug Hooking Studio is in our 6th year of business. In today's world, especially since Covid-19, having a social presence is very important. I started with Etsy and Facebook selling my hand dyed wool fabrics. I began a web site in 2016 and it hasn't been easy as I am not a web page programmer nor do I want to be. I have had many hopeful folks help me out over the years without having to sink a lot of money into this part of my business but last fall that had to change. Circumstances required me to do some major updates to my web site. I decided I would spend the money to have it 'done right'. I wanted to have a properly working web site. Over the Christmas holidays, my web site required programming was complete. All that was left was updating my products, removing some old info, replacing with new info, new photo's and linking SEO (Search Engine Optimization) info. I am so grateful I invested in my web site. I am forever thankful to Holly Casey of 'ARC Social Media' in our small town for assisting me.
Since Covid-19, many small businesses have had to shut down. Social distancing being of utmost importance. I am fortunate my studio is in my home so I can continue to fill customer's orders while 'staying home'. Door step drop offs and pick ups are the norm now as well as mailing. I had promised myself, one of my objectives for F2020 was to improve online shopping and to promote my business more. To that end, the web page being updated and functional was the first priority. I'm still working at updating the product but I'm about 1/2 way done so I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm trying to learn Instagram and make a presence there as well. If I'm going to stay alive as a business, social media is very important today as customers can only shop virtually. I want to be here for my customers and I'm so thankful for each and every one of my customers. Together we will get through this!

This week in the mail box, Marilyn had finished the edges of her Christmas Tree Cardinal rug (Christine Little pattern). It is a beauty.
Ann shared her rug she designed and finished. Ann had got the background colour from me and loved how it turned out. I love it too Ann!
Dianne shared her completed rug, Della's Rug Hooking pattern. So happy to see this finished Dianne, you did awesome!
As if you need a reminder, stay safe, stay home, don't touch your face and wash your hands 'often'. Have an awesome week everyone!
