Roadie Road Trip

Lynne and I were on the road last week attending the Periwinkle Laine Retreat in beautiful Charlottetown, PEI.  The first day of the retreat, a Holland America cruise ship was in dock just above Lynne's head (photo above). I didn't get a photo of it but man did it look huge!  In just a months time, Lynne and I will be aboard the Holland America cruise ship called The Rotterdam.

We had so much fun at the retreat, A special speaker Asha, who originally is from India, gave a talk about Sari Silks with some history and great information sprinkled in on customs of wearing Sari Silks.  Asha had a beautiful one on in the below second photo.

A whimsical bird (Gooney Bird) pattern was created by Periwinkle Laine and given to all participants to incorporate the wonderful Sari Silks given by Asha.  The below is my progress on my Gooney Bird. He was so much fun to do.

I finished up my poppy pattern which was also a Periwinkle Laine pattern.

In the mail this week; Mary Williams, who also attended the same retreat as Lynne and I this week, shared with me her rug she finished for a special niece who is getting married in September.  The nautical flags spell, Jen & Blaine. The sky blue was provided by Della's Rug Hooking Studio.

Kim MacKenzie shared her beautiful Poppy Rug, pattern by Periwinkle Laine.  Wonderful job, Kim.

Have a great week everyone!
