What a week we had last week! My first rug school (in 16 years) was fabulous! Over 150 students, new friends to be made, old to greet, fun events what more could someone ask for? The above photo is of my classmates attending the Marion Rose class with Sheila Stewart leading us. A full week of hooking to our hearts content. I can't wait until next year!
Before I show you what I worked on all week at rug school, I want to show you my finished (Elaine Harrison, yellow flowers) rug I had hooked.
At rug school, I decided to hook what is called Summer's End, painting by Marion Rose. It is coming along. Last Thursday night was 'open house' so anyone could come and see all the works of art produced or being produced. My son in-law, daughter and granddaughter came to visit.
This lovely lady below, Jane Steele from River House Rug Hooking, was the vendor at rug school.
So many lovely rugs were made and on display at the rug display. Too many to be able to post. I did snag this photo of Mary Elizabeth Jones who is hooking a large mermaid rug.
In the mail this week, Carol Cowan has finished another rug. It is lovely thanks for sharing.
I hope all the mothers, step moms, mothers to be, mothers of animals, those 'mothering', have a wonderful day. Happy Mother's day to my mom, Joan, she makes my lavender sachets, my snippet bags, gripper covers and is my biggest fan. Love you mom! Have a great week everyone!
Mom (Joan), Abriella (great granddaughter to mom) and me (Della)
You’ve had a busy week indeed! Nice the kids got to come visit you and see you doing what you love to do! Love the colors in your new rug, can’t wait to see it finished! Happy Mother’s Day!
I am inspired by rug schools and seeing the work of others. Thanks for posting, and enjoy a relaxing Mother’s Day!
