Mother's Day, 2026

Happy Mother's Day to all you special ladies out there.  My sister Dianne and I took our mother, Joan Ripley out for our annual flower shopping day yesterday.  We decided to visit the Dutch Cheese farm and the above picture is the beautiful view of the Bay of Fundy from the farm.  Lunch at Diane's in Five Islands, it was the perfect day.

I spent the past week at Rug School in Halifax, N.S.  What a spectacular week we had.  Lots of laughs and new friends were made and reacquainted with old friends.  I took the Geo class with Tatiana Knodel.  I finished my project by midweek and hooked a smaller version of the same.

A few pictures from the week.  Our very own Diane Benoit won the fun RLC game at our tables.  There were so many playing there were three sets of tables playing.

Our very own Caroline Simpson won Peoples Choice and second place for her beautiful rugs at the Rug Display at Rug School.  The white and black one was made solely from plastic bags and cassette tapes as it was on display outside at the Fundy National Park in New Brunswick for the summer last year.

Jane and her husband Norris were demonstrating a little skit to promote a new class for next year on how to dye wool yarns.

Lovely ladies hanging outside the cafeteria.

Tatiana at our display for the 'open house' that is held each year at rug school for the public to visit to see our works of art.

I took lots of pictures from the rug display, too many to place here.  Sufficient to say there were lots of works of art to enjoy.  Lots of photos were placed on the Facebook Page, Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia if you want to see more.  The below was done by Beverly Levine and I thought was spectacular.  Bev has a great imagination and I love this.

We visited the Hooked Rug Museum of North America in Hubbard's, N.S. one evening this past week.  Again a lot of photos were taken by me, too many to place here.

In the mail this week;  Diane Benoit finished up this lovely rug at rug school this week.  Fabulous job Diane.

Have a great week everyone!
