The beautiful fall leaves in my neck of the woods have nearly all fallen off the maple trees. You know what comes next, cooler temps and snow. We've had a wonderful fall thus far so I can't complain. Halloween will be almost over this time next week. The above picture is of my granddaughter Sophie and the costume she will be wearing to trick and treat. I think she looks like a fabulous astronaut and I am glad I got to see it in person this weekend while visiting.
I was able to attend last weeks hooking gatherings in Northport and Springhill. I've been working a bit on my Russian Alphabet rug but set it aside this week to hook on a new pattern I purchased this summer at the Plum Tree Studio. Pattern by Lori-Ann Lingley. So much fun to do!
In the Mail this Week; Adelle Long shared her beautiful rug she designed called Sunset Loon. Adelle had asked me to dye the wool for the sky and water. I hand painted the wool and Adelle made it work beautifully. Thanks for sharing Adelle.
Mary McCurdy has updated me on her progress on my pattern called Zentangle. She said she is having so much fun on this pattern. Can't wait to see more Mary, you are doing a fabulous job!
Ethel McCormick was at the Springhill weekly hooking gathering and when I looked over her shoulder to see what she was hooking, I exclaimed, 'that looks very familiar, wait that is my pattern!'. Just tickles me to see others hooking my patterns. Ethel is coming along great with this rug.
Betty Rockwell was also in Springhill and shared with me the below rug she just finished. She had been given the rug which had been started but not finished and she took out what was there to do her own colours. Very nice Betty!
Susan Turnbull shared her finished rug, design by Two Old Crows, wool and yarn provided by Martina Lesar and Della's Rug Hooking Studio. Susan always knows what she wants. The background is dyed using my yarn called Timber. I had a wool fabric by this name and Susan asked if I could dye yarn the same so I did and I think it is perfect! Beautiful rug Susan.
Have an awesome week everyone!
