Hook-Ins

I know I am repeating myself, but if you haven't ever attended a 'rug hooking, hook-in' you need to! The Cumberland County Region has four groups that meet regularly and they also host Hook-In's from time to time.  We have the Northport Loopers (Northport), Remsheg Hookers (Wallace), Friends Hook Nook (Springhill) and The Beachside Rug Hookers (Advocate/Parrsboro Areas).  Anyone is welcome to join any of these groups that usually meet weekly. You can also join the Rug Hooking Guild of Nova Scotia, many regions all over the Maritimes, PEI and Newfoundland & Labrador are indicated within the back of the Loop which is a wonderful quarterly rug hooking magazine full of information for anyone who joins the guild.

The above photo was taken yesterday at my friends beach at Seagrove.  We sat here and watched beautiful nature in front of us.  Was a beautiful day.  We had a lovely feed of clams freshly dug that evening delivered to us to enjoy, thanks Dale, Shelley & Phil.

I finished up my Gooney Bird, pattern by Periwinkle Laine.  He was fun to do.

I worked a bit more on my rug I am duplicating a painting that my sister did many years ago.  More tweaking to be done but here it is for now.

I vended for the Remsheg Wallace group this week.  My mom Joan came to help me, we had a great day and thanks to all of the wonderful ladies and gents that attended and hosted this event.  Years gone by, it was always a favorite event to attend as you hook outside and it is always a beautiful day it seems.  Picture below I stole from Ursula!  Gayle and I discussing wool selections.

In the mail this week; Sandra Harper finished up this pattern by Della's Rug Hooking called Della's Butterfly.  The background wool called Heavenly Snow was supplied by Della's Rug Hooking.  Great job Sandra and thanks for sharing.

Have a great week everyone!
