Harvest Time, August 07, 2022

It is that time of year here in the Maritimes, we can enjoy the fruits of our labour from the gardens, from apple trees, blueberries, etc.  My mom has the high bush blueberries, they are a little plumper than the wild blueberries and I don't like the taste as much as the wild blueberries.  My dad has wild blueberry fields behind our place that he started harvesting today.  Hot work at the best of times let alone during another heat wave we are experiencing.  I have my granddaughter and grandson for this week as my granddaughter's dad is helping my dad in the blueberry fields and my grandson is raking blueberries.  Busy times.

I have finished up this Jane Steele poppy pattern that I have made into a chair pad.  Was fun to do.

On Wednesday of last week, I attended the hook-in at the Truro Farm Equipment Museum.  I don't know what the count was but it sure seemed like at least a 100 folks came out.  Was so enjoyable to see fellow rug hookers that I hadn't seen in a long time!  Wonderful day. Can you find the horse in one of these photos?

This gal greeted us below. My land the jokes she could tell!

In the mail this week; Charlene Frehlick finished up her Starry Night Van Gogh pattern by Della's Rug Hooking.  I love the purples!

Kim MacKenzie shared her finished Sista pattern by Della's Rug Hooking.  So pretty Kim!

Have a good week everyone and try to stay cool!
