Artist Dawn Omen gave me permission to hook the images on 2 cards purchased from in 2002 at her Yellowknife studio. I did most of the Hooking in Panama during the winter. This spring we moved and did major renovations, so I couldn’t access my backing material or sewing machine. I finally finished the pillows yesterday using Cindi Gay’s pillow finishing method.
I have loved these images since I first saw them, but there is added emotional value to these 2 pillows. Each pillow is completed with the favourite colour of each of my sons. My first born Joël loved blue, so Alpha bear is for him. My second son, Daniel, my baby, loved green, so First Winter is for him. Our two sons were killed in 1999.
Dawn Omen now has her studio in Nova Scotia. It is my dream to visit her studio in An old church. https://www.dawnomanart.com
