First off, thanks so much for all of the wonderful good wishes, positive vibes, visits, cards, goodies, plants and messages. I felt the love and I thank you very much. My knee surgery went very well at least I think so, I have a follow-up two week appointment with my surgeon this coming week (Thursday), so I'll know more then and have the staples removed.
I shared on my Facebook personal page a few rugs I had completed as Christmas gifts, so if you missed seeing those just go to Della Ackles Facebook page to view.
Literally 3 days before my surgery I decided I needed to make a rag quilt. Charlie and I rushed off to Moncton to pick out flannel and then I got to work, thanks to the help from my friend Shelley as she had made a few this Christmas as well. I finished snipping around each square last night so this one will be ready after a few washes! This quilt will be for my youngest granddaughter Alina. Next I'll do one for my other granddaughter Sophie. I have Sophie's all cut out so lots of sewing to do. (second photos)

I've been working on a project I started over a year ago, I know crazy huh? I don't like hooking with yarns at all and this project is being done mostly with yarns. It is a basket with a handle and the basket is metal mesh. I have placed the name of the physio therapy business (Soper) within it and I am trying to hook the water fowl park as this business resides in Sackville, N.B. These people here are the best and I wanted to hook this basket and fill it with goodies to give to them for helping me recover from this knee surgery. I am hoping I can make it look much better than it presently is. My mom made me a starry night insert. Lots of hooking left to do on this then I will show once again.

I joined an online 'Baker's Dozen' class with Winnie Glavine in Newfoundland. First class was last Monday evening learning about hooking the moon. Here is a photo I had taken early one morning though and I always find a photo never captures the true beauty. My hooked moon is below that.

In the mail this week; Diane Benoit finished up these lovely two rugs for her children for Christmas so I couldn't share until now. Both Jane Steele patterns.

Sue Beckwith finished up her Dahlia Garden, pattern by Della's Rug Hooking Studio. Very beautiful Sue.

Nancy Doucette finished up her Tracadie Winds rug she started at the Black Bush restreat last fall, pattern by Periwinkle Laine. Beautiful Nancy.

Lana Coxford finished up these two lovely rugs, both patterns by Della's Rug Hooking Studio. Well done Lana.

Exciting news, I will be in Dartmouth, NS, at the Hampton Inn at Dartmouth Crossing, February 13th (evening) and February 14th (10-2) vending along with Creative Ewe (Leslie) and Periwinkle Laine (Debbie and Charlene). Hope to see you there. We will have our supplies for rug hooking, punching and knitting so come out and see us!
Have a great week!
